Reasons and Seasons
There are clusters of people who drift into and out of people’s lives. A friend (I have one or two) once coined the phrase ‘reason, season and lifetime’ meaning that a person will come into your life for one of those three reasons.
Some will turn up for a reason – either to teach you a life lesson or to else to learn something from the way you interact with them. An example might be the school bully who learns that it isn’t always the best tactic to intimidate someone.
Others will turn up for a season – they will be with you for a week or a month or a year or five and then their path through life will diverge from yours and off they go. College friends, work associates… they remain friends for a while and then drift away.
A few will stay with you for a lifetime. Close friends, husbands, wives and mentors. These people enhance and celebrate your life.
A demon, on the other hand, is forever.
