The demon vanished from sight. Not fading away like the Cheshire Cat but just gone. Dill stepped forward, cautiously reaching into the space he'd vacated in case the demon had just turned invisible to end the conversation but his hand met no resistance.
“How rude.” Dill turned back to his computer. Were demons always that rude? It seemed unfair. It wasn't as if he was a member of a cult of demon worshippers. They just happened to inhabit the same location. There was no need to be quite so blunt. Would a 'please excuse me' be out of the question? He'd have to address it at the next house meeting.
